If you are interested in participating, follow this link.
Social Justice - Communicate For Health Justice (CFHJ) is interested to know how is your industry communicating for (global) health justice? Share your perspective by taking part in the CFHJ survey. We're working on our next event which so let us know what topic you'd like to hear us discuss on our Slack channel.
Statistical Methods - Almost 100 tickets were snapped up for last month's event. Everyone is welcome: expect fascinating talks, in-depth discussions, & all-round interesting chat on everything to do with statistical methods & health equity. Our next monthly webinar is on the 26th Nove at 4pm on model design decisions, lazy data practices and algorithmic fairness, led by Christoph Kern from LMU Munich. Find your tickets here.
Musculoskeletal Health - We are launching this theme with a webinar to discuss predictive models to detect musculoskeletal injuries in military recruits on 14th Nov at 4pm GMT. Get your ticket here. This theme is planning events and activities to establish partnerships & build consensus to tackle long term MSK condition and experience!

The Digest
Want to see all the articles, podcasts, papers, blogs, videos, funding calls, events and training opportunities that have been shared across the DSxHE Slack workspace?
Is the public sector equipped to procure technology in the public interest? This first paper presents the findings from the document analysis, which examines what the existing guidance and legislation say about how public-sector procurement decisions can be made with consideration of principles such as equity, fairness, public engagement and community impact. This is explored in the local government context. Read More here.
Scientific American
The journey toward health equity can, at times, feel endless. But it can also be exciting and inspiring. My biggest source of hope is young people. It’s the youngest people who are shining a clear light on why climate change is devastating and why leaders are not acting on what has been obvious for many years. It’s the youngest people who are doing great work in the U.S. on gun control, even as they’re getting slaughtered in schools. It’s the young people who are alarmed about the rollback of reproductive rights in the U.S., in Afghanistan, you name it. You can watch here.
