For our first webinar of 2024 we were delighted to welcome Professor Rohini Mathur from QMUL to discuss her work on big data insights and precision health approaches to address inequalities in chronic and infectious diseases. She goes through the main considerations needed when working with ethnicity data, including the biases of the data in healthcare settings, the categorizations of ethnicity codes and methods for dealing with missing ethnicity. These considerations are highlighted in her work using the OpenSAFELY platform, which looked at the ethnic differences and inequalities in COVID-19. Thank you to everyone who attended, and for those that missed it, the full video recording is available below 👇
