Improvement Science

This theme aims to develop and demonstrate the value of applying the systematic method of quality improvement to identifying and tackling areas of health inequity.

Quality  improvement involves taking a structured approach to understanding and  improving a complex issue, involving a range of stakeholders close to  the issue in developing and testing new ideas, using data to understand  impact over time.


As  more health and care systems across the UK and the globe start to focus  on equity, recognising that this is an aspect of quality of care that  has had less attention over previous years, there is an opportunity to  learn together about how to involve people deeply in change, working  locally and utilising a method that allows rapid testing, learning and  scaling.
