About the event
We are excited for our next Participatory Research webinar series
Approximately 1.3 million people living in England have a learning disability. People with learning disabilities (PwLD) are underserved in research, meaning that they are not involved in research design, participation and dissemination as much as they should be. Several barriers prevent their involvement such as research information not being accessible enough for people to understand and a general lack of understanding about the diverse communication needs of this population.
This presentation, delivered by Sarah Rabbitte (Learning Disability Nurse) and Amy Wilkins (Speech and Language Therapist), aims to discuss how they have involved PwLD in the DECODE (Develop and Enhance Care Co-ordination for People with Learning Disabilities) research project.
They will discuss challenges to participation and how PwLD helped them to overcome these barriers making their experience in research a meaningful and beneficial experience.’
We are really looking forward to hearing…
